Most people are only allowed to adjust or switch Medicare Part D plans once a year during the Annual Election Period (November 15 through December 31). Outside this time period, plan members generally can't make other changes during the year. Exceptions are made for people who have special circumstances, such as if they have moved, have Medicaid coverage, or get extra help paying for drugs.
